Touchmark Adult Resort Community

Located throughout the United States, Touchmark retirement communities offer independent living homes, assisted living apartments and on-site health care services. Drake Design Group provided landscape architecture services for the Cliff and Terrace Lodges at the Touchmark community located in Bend, Oregon.

The Terrace and Cliff Lodges offer maintenance-free independent living with 24-hour staffing. Once the potential recreational uses of the various outdoor spaces were defined, the organization of each area was carefully developed so that each space could be utilized regardless of any physical limitations of a particular owner. This interior courtyard is organized around a reflecting pool, which acts as a central hub. The symbolism of water in the design was critical in providing an environment that will have everlasting meaning to the owners and their families. This space provides opportunities for relaxation, contemplation, gardening, socializing, and entertainment while maintaining interior views and privacy.
